RESOURCES for applying performers

How to record yourself

You can use any existing recording, video, or link to your work to register you Expression Of Interest in performing at a Put It On concert. However if you’d like to record something new, here are some ways you can go about it:

  • Phone video - we won’t be worrying about fancy sound quality, so feel free to just prop your phone up and hit record!

  • Audio - if you don’t have access to a phone with a camera, you can use a voice memo, a zoom recorder, or any other audio recording device you might have.

  • Videos others may have taken of you - feel free to send links to social media clips, or any footage you may have of your work. It doesn’t need to be a polished package, promise.

How to upload and share your recording

You can upload your video or audio to a sharing site like Dropbox, Google Drive, WeTransfer, Soundcloud, Bandcamp, Youtube or a social media platform as long as it’s set to public/shareable - then copy and paste the link to the EOI form on our ‘Register’ page.

If you can’t record something, how best to describe your work

If you don’t have or can’t make a recording, we’d love if you could provide a detailed description of what your work is like via the EOI form on our ‘Register’ page. We can then get in touch and see if we can organise a way for you to share your music with us! Please describe:

  • What instrument/s you use

  • What style of music you play

  • What piece of music you would like to perform

  • A little about yourself as an artist

How to prepare for the day/the meet and greet

Put It On show day is a community music event. We will invite performers to join us about an hour before soundcheck starts, to get to know your fellow PIO community members. We might ask you to share a little about yourself and your music, and we may end up making some music all together in this time.

If this feels uncomfortable for any reason, you can let us know and we can support you both in the lead-up and on the day.

Access

Venue access information is available on our ‘Events’ page. There is also a space on our ‘Register’ page EOI form to make us aware of specific requirements you may have. We will personalise your access once we’ve received your EOI.
